For over 20 years I have worked in the film and television industry as a 3D computer graphics artist, modeler, software designer and educator. Computer graphics began as a perfect way to bridge my interests in art and science. I have been able stay at the forefront of technology by applying these skills to new fields such as 3D printing, rapid prototyping, micro controllers, augmented reality, user interaction, and higher education. My latest obsession is Virtual Production using the Unreal engine and interfaced hardware.
Throughout my career, I’ve been fortunate to serve as a “translator” between renowned artists, designers, and scientists. Working at Disney Animation Studios for over 12 years taught me how to bring complicated digital tasks to the user level through workflows and interactive experiences. As a 3D artist I use my knowledge to design the best experience to meet the needs of hundreds of artists working in various media. I’ve done this one-on-one and on a public scale through speaking engagements and presentations at events such as Siggraph. Most recently I have concentrated my efforts on rapid prototyping, 3D printers, laser cutters, CNC routers, product design/development, microcontrollers, IoT, emerging technologies, and educational instructor.
